This year is the seventh year of making the Kodaline Calendars to help raise money for Charity. The calendar contains photographs of the lads performing at various concerts in the last couple of years. The proceeds of the sales get shared between two charities. It was important for me to select charities close to the guys and the fans. Naturally they had to be in Ireland too. Ireland is a beautiful country and her people are special.
More details below.
1. HHT Ireland
As most people will be aware, Kodaline's album 'In A Perfect World' is dedicated to a dear friend of theirs Woodzi (Paul Woods). He was diagnosed with HHT at the age of 13. Unfortunately a microscopic AVM in his lung ruptured and he passed away in June 2012. He was 22 years old. HHT Ireland was set up afterwards to help raise awareness and to help fund research and treatment in Ireland and abroad. More information can be found here :- HHT Ireland
Half the proceeds from sales will go to HHT Ireland in memory of Woodzi.
2. Ciara Lawlor Memorial Fund
The other half of the proceeds will be donated to Ciara Lawlor Memorial Fund.
The Ciara Lawlor Memorial has been set up in memory of a beautiful daughter, sister and friend who has left a huge void in their lives. She sadly passed away of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Sydrome (SADS) whilst attending a Kodaline concert. In memory of Ciara the memorial helps raise funds for charities close to the Lawlors' hearts.
The charity chosen by The Lawlor family this year is CRY Cardiac Risk in the Young. They provide counselling and fundraisers for CRYP centre based in Tallaght Hospital, Dublin, Ireland. More details can be found here Cry.ie
